What happened

The CA20 module, measuring 20.6 meters in length, 14.2 meters in width, and 21 meters in height, weighing over 1000 tonnes, has been successfully placed at the Xudabao nuclear power plant in China. This module includes plant and equipment for used fuel storage, transmission, heat exchange, and waste collection.

The placement marks a significant milestone in the construction of units 1 and 2 at the Xudabao plant, featuring 1250 MWe CAP1000 reactors. Originally planned for six reactors, the project now includes two Russian-supplied VVER-1200 reactors as units 3 and 4.
