France split over environmental effects of Christmas trees

Christmas trees are a topic close to the hearts of many in the Morvan Natural Park. They produce more than a million fir trees for the market every year, making the region the main French producer. However, there are complaints of their impact on the natural environment. This is because part of it depends on the application of chemical treatments. Given that, the production of Christmas trees, due to the use of chemical herbicides, can have an impact on water resources.
