The 2 units that make up the new Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) will supply about 40 percent of the country’s electricity needs. The construction of the NPP was made possible by the sound and timely cooperation between Russia and Belarus, and this could be a good example for future cooperation with other states.
The success of the project was not easy because of the special circumstances including the global pandemic, the complex geopolitical situation, and above all the extremely high safety requirements demanded by the Belarusian government, according to which the safety of the NPP must be the most important issue.
