Sikorsky to fly new reconnaissance helicopter next year

Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin unit, has unveiled its next generation scout helicopter prototype called RAIDER X, built for the U.S. Army’s Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) competition. According to Sikorsky President Paul Lemmo, the new aircraft will provide an integrated weapon system capable of combining speed, range, manoeuvrability, survivability and operational flexibility to perform missions in new and expanded threat environments.
