What happened

A gas explosion in Bijie, Guizhou province, resulted in five fatalities and one person injured. The incident occurred during tunnel construction for the Xuyong-Bijie Railway in the Qixingguan district of Bijie. Local authorities quickly mobilized an emergency response, involving various departments, such as mine rescue, public security, health, and railway services. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the explosion.
