Recently completed EU-funded human biomonitoring research highlights potential health risks from exposure to Bisphenol A above acceptable levels of health safety. According to European Environment Agency (EEA), in Europe the chemical is used in everything from plastic and metal food containers to reusable water bottles and drinking water pipes, and it can damage the human immune system at very low doses. This is in addition to a number of adverse human health effects, such as endocrine disruption, reduced fertility, and allergic skin reactions.
