Two international workshops organized by the IAEA have attracted 142 attendees from 51 member countries. These workshops focused on two key areas: Technology Development and Applications, and Generic User Requirements for Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). The primary goal was to enhance knowledge about small modular reactors and the latest technological advancements in this field. The aim was to foster a deeper understanding of the role of SMRs at the national level and provide support for future decision-making regarding their potential deployment. Small Modular Reactors, including microreactors (MRs), are characterized by their compact size, built-in safety features, low carbon emissions, and the ability to be easily transported and integrated into various power grids.
