Looming health crisis after “Storm Daniel” in Greece

After the flooding in the region of Thessaly the danger to the health of the citizens is that the stagnant water and mud bring not only a high amount of mosquitoes but also dead rats, resulting in the transmission of infectious diseases such as Leptospirosis and Typhoid Fever in addition to the danger of diseases from dead livestock. Greek authorities are arranging for their removal by special trucks and for their cremation.
