What happened

The Egyptian Ministry of Health stated that two cases, both experiencing mild symptoms and displaying indications of improvement, have been confirmed to be infected with the sublineage of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 (EG.5.2 “Eris”), based on test results from monitoring Centers for influenza-like illnesses, acute respiratory diseases, and pneumonia.
