French health officials say the country has seen a surge in the number of people being admitted to hospital with tick-borne encephalitis, with cases appeared to be particularly high in the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region and the country has seen a huge surge in cases in recent months, with the hospitalisation rate now at 94%.
