Brussels has drafted a declaration acknowledging the role of nuclear energy in the bloc’s efforts to decarbonise in an effort to placate the French, who have refused to back EU renewable energy targets until it gains more recognition for atomic power.
The European Commission will consider the decarbonisation efforts of EU countries, including the development of non-fossil energy sources beyond wind, solar, and other renewables.
