India achieved a successful flight test of its advanced ballistic missile. The newly developed missile, named Agni Prime, possesses a range of 2,000 km (1,243 miles) and is more precise and resistant to interception compared to India’s other nuclear-capable missiles. Its accuracy is attributed to the employment of an advanced inertial navigation system based on ring-laser gyroscopes. Furthermore, the missile’s maneuverability during atmospheric reentry further enhances its capability to evade interception attempts.
