According to the weekly bulletin of outbreak and other emergencies of the World Health Organization, a total of 1 265 cholera cases and 47 deaths have been reported in South Africa. Currently, five provinces have been affected: Gauteng Province, Free State, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and North West.
