Pakistan: Bannu IBOs kill 6 terrorists, injures 4

According to a statement issued by army officials, an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by security forces in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulted in the death of six terrorists and injuries to four others. The operation was conducted following intelligence received regarding the presence of the terrorists in the Bannu district and culminated in a gunfight. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) have announced that a military operation is underway to neutralise any remaining insurgents in the area. As stated in a report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), there was an escalation in militant violence and security operations in March 2025. This escalation was marked by an increase in militant attacks, which exceeded 100 for the first time since November 2014.
