What happened

The China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) announced a large-scale security exercise at Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant, in the eastern province of Fujian. The exercise, called “Storm-2025″, was held on April 12 and simulated a coordinated emergency response to a hypothetical attack on the facility. It involved the rapid deployment of measures to reduce the impact of the attack. The event was jointly overseen by China’s National Nuclear Safety Administration and the Ministry of Public Security.
“Storm-2025” is part of a regular biannual training schedule and reflects China’s growing focus on nuclear infrastructure security, especially in key areas like Fujian, which is near the Taiwan Strait.
