A bird flu outbreak in North Cornwall has been successfully contained, leading to the removal of restrictions. The outbreak was near Bodmin, where some birds at a commercial premises were found infected with highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), popularly known as bird flu, a few weeks ago. In response to the outbreak, a three-kilometre exclusion zone and a ten-kilometre surveillance zone were established around the city and its surroundings. However, the successful completion of disease control and surveillance activities in the area has convinced the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) to revoke the measures previously put in place to curb the outbreak.
