What happened

Two people have been taken to hospital after a chemical spill in Sheepwash, North Devon, and another person was treated at the scene. The incident occurred on the morning of March 7. All emergency services were called to the area and closed a rural road to contain the spill. Authorities put traffic diversions in place and advised the public through social media to avoid the area. In a statement, the Devon and Cornwall Police said they were alerted about the spill at around 10.30 am and intervened at the scene with the fire and ambulance services. The spill was contained, and there was no further risk to the public. The police also confirmed that three people had been injured during the emergency, two requiring hospitalization. Enquiries will be carried out about the circumstances of the incident. All traffic restrictions have been lifted.
