Measles in Savona, four cases confirmed

The health authorities of the Italian province of Savona have confirmed four measles cases in adult patients, while a fifth case is currently under investigation. The patients are being managed in home isolation. To mitigate the spread of the virus, epidemiological investigations and preventive measures have been initiated to protect the population and health personnel. Specifically, surveillance of the close contacts of infected persons has been launched.
