What happened

As reported in a press release from the DGSN-DGST hub, an explosive device in the assembly phase was discovered on the outskirts of Rabat. The device consisted of a gas cylinder connected to pipes and electrical cables. Morocco’s Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) has reportedly utilised drilling apparatus to facilitate the extraction of the components of the explosive device. The explosive materials had been concealed beneath layers of earth in an unoccupied area of the Sidi Larbi residential complex in Ain Aouda, on the outskirts of Rabat, by members of the terror cell apprehended in Tamesna. This discovery was made after the dismantling of a terrorist cell that had ties to the African branch of ISIS on 19 February, and which is the subject of ongoing investigations.
