What happened

18-year-old Muhammad Billal from Nelson, Lancashire, has been charged at Westminster Magistrates’ Court for preparation to commit terrorist acts and collection of information useful to commit or prepare an act of terrorism. Billal was arrested on February 11 by the Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) with support from Lancashire Police. After being charged, he was remanded into custody and should appear again in court on February 19. Investigations on the case are still ongoing.
