A release of toxic vapours occurred in a company in Macherio, province of Monza and Brianza, Lombardy. The reason for the escape of the substance from the plant is currently under investigation. The substance dispersed inside the plant, where four workers inhaled the vapours. The workers, aged between 29 and 56, were rescued and transported with yellow code to the San Gerardo hospital in Monza for poisoning. The fire brigade teams that intervened on the scene inspected the plant to verify the causes and possible consequences of the chemical dispersion and were assisted by the CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) Unit of the Monza command. Also present on site were health personnel, the local police, and the territorially competent Health Protection Company (ATS).
