What happened

The European Centre for Disaster Medicine (CEMEC) has made a significant contribution to the advancement of civil-military cooperation. This was evident in his participation in the recent CBRN Defence Orientation Course held at the NATO School in Oberammergau, Germany, from 27 to 31 January 2025. The course brought together military and civilian experts to address the complexities of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and technological threats. CEMEC’s involvement enriched the curriculum, emphasising the critical need for collaboration between military and civilian entities to effectively respond to these evolving challenges. The NATO School, a pivotal training institution, offers over 100 courses annually, with a focus on fostering cooperation, dialogue, and training for both military and civilian personnel. Since its establishment in 1953, the school has trained over 200,000 participants, with more than 10,000 attending each year.
