Two Pakistani soldiers and five terrorists, including two suicide bombers, were killed in a failed attack on a roadblock in the Qila Abdullah district of Balochistan. The attack took place on the night of Monday to Tuesday, when militants attempted to breach the checkpoint in an explosives-laden vehicle, but were repelled by security forces. Following the attack, the armed forces launched a clearance operation to neutralise further threats. The ISPR reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces in the fight against terrorism, stressing that such sacrifices strengthen resolve against the growing militant threat. Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are the two epicentres of the terrorist outbreak in Pakistan, with more than 95% of the attacks recorded in 2024 concentrated in these areas. The Pak Institute for Peace Studies report shows an escalation in attacks compared to the previous decade, with KP recording 295 attacks and Balochistan seeing a 119% increase in terrorist activity.
