Pontedera, a war device was detonated

The 2nd Pontieri Engineer Regiment of Piacenza, a military unit specialising in the disposal of explosive devices, has completed the neutralisation of an explosive war device (ERW). The device in question was a 105 mm artillery grenade of Italian manufacture discovered in Pontedera, a municipality in the province of Pisa, near a bend in the Era River. Following preliminary inspections and the implementation of requisite safety measures, the military detonated the device in a designated zone proximate to the affected area. No critical issues were encountered during the execution of the mine clearance activities of the war device. The authorities emphasised the significance of promptly reporting the discovery of suspicious devices or artefacts to the police, thereby enabling military experts to intervene and ensure the clearance and restoration of safety conditions in the affected area.
