The Italian Ministry of Health has mandated the recall of a batch of shelled clams produced at the Battipaglia plant in the province of Salerno, Italy. This mandate is due to the potential presence of Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) in concentrations that exceed the permitted limits. Consumers should refrain from consuming the product belonging to the indicated lot and to return it to the point of sale. This recall follows a series of similar recalls issued by the national health authority in recent days, which have affected food products intended for human consumption due to the presence of chemical substances such as cadmium, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), pyrrolizidine alkaloids, lead, and aflatoxins in quantities exceeding the limits permitted by law.
