What happened

The five individuals who perished in the explosion at the Calenzano oil depot have been formally identified. The patients with minor injuries transported by emergency medical services to the Florentine Polyclinic of Careggi and the Hospital of Prato have been discharged from the hospital or are in the process of being discharged. Three patients remain hospitalised, all in critical condition. They are the two patients from the Pisa ‘Centro Grandi Ustionati’, both in critical condition, and a third patient who is in sub-intensive care at Florence ‘Careggi’ hospital. The data provided by the Region of Tuscany and subsequently corroborated by the Prefecture of Florence indicates that 10 individuals sustained injuries and were transported by emergency vehicles to medical facilities. Additionally, approximately 17 individuals presented themselves at hospitals with various types of injuries, which, nevertheless, did not result in any fatalities or life-threatening conditions.
