What happened

In a recent announcement, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) stated that Handsome Brook Farms has initiated a recall of its organic eggs from free-range hens due to suspected contamination with Salmonella. According to the manufacturer, no cases of the disease have been reported yet. Operations manager Shauna Grob confirmed that consumers had contacted the company to ascertain whether the eggs in their possession were part of the recalled batch. According to the details provided by the manufacturer, the distribution of the recalled product would involve 25 outlets in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. The company is conducting inspections along the supply chain to prevent further issues. Customers who have purchased the recalled product should refrain from consuming it and return it to the point of purchase for a full refund. In any case, to reduce the risk of infection, eggs should be stored in the refrigerator and cooked. People should also wash their hands, and thoroughly clean the tools and surfaces after handling eggs, experts advise.
