What happened

Carbon monoxide fumes from a boiler in a residential building in Signa, a district in the Italian province of Florence, caused the intoxication of four individuals from two different households. The affected individuals were attended to by medical personnel and subsequently conveyed to a medical facility for routine medical examinations. Measurements taken within the building by the fire brigade promptly dispatched to the scene indicated the existence of a considerable concentration of gas. Upon the investigation’s conclusion, the fire brigade, at the magistrate’s directive, proceeded to place the boiler under sequestration.
