What happened

According to National Health Department officials, an increase of 565 percent in Measles cases has been reported. From January 1st to February 25th, 2023, have been reported 133 Measles cases. In 2022, during the same period, were reported 20 cases. The Regions reporting the most cases include: National Capital Region (NCR) with 24 cases, Zamboanga Peninsula with 24 cases and Calabarzon with 20 cases. No Measles deaths reported. Philippines reports show that multiple vaccine-preventable diseases increased in January and February 2023, with cases of Diphtheria rised up by 233%, Rubella by 300% and Pertussis by 400%.
