In response to the flood emergency, the Reggio Emilia Local Health Authority has established specialised vaccination points to administer tetanus and influenza vaccinations to citizens, healthcare professionals, and volunteers in the affected regions. The exceptional vaccination campaign aims to address the primary risks associated with the recent heavy rainfall and its impact on individuals engaged in the clearance, cleaning, and restoration of affected premises, namely gastrointestinal infections and tetanus. To ensure the collective health safety of residents in flooded areas and those assisting in affected regions, the Emilia-Romagna Region has developed guidelines that summarise the principal recommendations and conduct requirements for reducing the risk of exposure to potentially contaminated floodwater.
