As reported by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), Hungary and Italy have both experienced an outbreak of H5N1 avian influenza. The Hungarian outbreak originated from a farm situated in the eastern part of the country, whereas the Italian outbreak occurred at a farm in the vicinity of Padua. At the current time, no further details have been released.
