Agence France-Presse (AFP) has suffered a cyber-attack on its IT systems and customer distribution services. Although the attack affected part of the customer service, it did not affect global media coverage.
AFP technicians are working with the French National Agency for Information Systems Security (ANSSI) to assess the damage to the IT systems and identify the type of cyber attack. It is not yet clear whether it is ransomware or who is responsible, as no cyber gang has claimed responsibility for this attack.
The AFP has warned partners and customers to change their account credentials because they may have been compromised. In the meantime, the AFP website has suffered several outages and has therefore directed many pages to a maintenance screen.
