Following the Transport for London (TfL) hack, the National Crime Agency (NCA) has announced that a 17-year-old boy was arrested in Walsall, West Midlands, on 5 September. According to TfL, up to 5,000 of their customers may have been affected during the cyber breach, allowing hackers to steal their banking details.
Yet the company has announced that so far the attack has had a minor impact on customers’ personal data. In addition, TfL has launched an investigation with the NCA and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and is continuously monitoring access to its systems to prevent further breaches and protect customer data. As such, working together across TfL, the NCA, and the NCSC will minimise customer risk and help identify those responsible.
