What happened

According to the WHO “Weekly Bulletin on Outbreaks and other Emergencies” (Week 39: 19 – 25 September 2022), during epi week 35, 4 cases of circulating vaccine-derived Poliovirus Type 2 (CVDPV2) were reported: 2 in N’Djamena, and one each in Mayo Kebbi Est and Salamat Regions, bringing to 18 the number of 2022 cases of cVDPV2 in Chad.

In addition, there were 106 CVDPV2 cases reported in 2020 from three different outbreaks, while 9 other cases were reported in 2019.
