What happened

In Balkh province, northern Afghanistan, in Mazar-e-Sharif Police District 4, a grenade was thrown from a car, reportedly due to the driver’s inattention. The vehicle is believed to belong to the Taliban’s 209th Al-Fath Corps. The explosion occurred without causing any casualties, according to local Taliban officials. As reported by a Taliban security officer, two individuals linked to the grenade explosion have been detained by the police for additional investigation. Following a recent incident, a grenade owned by the Taliban in Afghanistan’s northern province detonated “accidentally,” resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to four others, among them women and children.
