According to The Africa CDC’s Weekly Event Based Surveillance Report – Africa Epidemic Intelligence Report (28 April 2024), the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) has reported 2,640 new suspected cases and seven new fatalities (CFR: 0.3%) of cholera across eight regions. To date, there have been 12,205 suspected cases and 77 deaths (CFR: 0.6%) reported from eight of Ethiopia’s twelve regions this year, marking a prolonged outbreak that began in August 2022.
