Nigeria: EOD comb operation in Anambra State’s forest

Security forces comprising troops from the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Navy, operating in Anambra State, successfully retrieved nine homemade Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and four walkie-talkies during a joint operation in the forests of Ogbaru local government area. The aim of the operation was to locate and neutralize criminals targeting security installations in the state. The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) reported that the team conducted thorough searches in the forests of Amiyi and Ochuche, uncovering multiple insurgent camps which were subsequently dismantled. The recovered explosive devices were safely disarmed by the Police Bomb Squad.
