Russia and IAEA interdepartmental consultation cycle in Sochi

On 6th March, another round of interdepartmental consultations of the Russian delegation, headed by ROSATOM Director General Alexey Likhachev, with the IAEA delegation led by Director General Mr. Rafael Grossi took place in Sochi. The meeting was also attended by diplomatic and military representatives of the Russian government. The main talks centred on the nuclear safety and security of the Zaporozhskaya NPP. Likhachev outlined measures being taken by the Russian side to ensure the safe operation of the plant and also touched upon certain aspects of interaction with the IAEA experts at the site. On his part, Grossi presented the results of his visit to the plant in early February. The parties confirmed their commitment to continue contacts.
