According to The Africa CDC’s Weekly Event-Based Surveillance Report, a total of 33224 cases (5368 confirmed; 27856 suspected) and 750 deaths (case fatality rate- CFR: 2,3%) of cholera were reported from 14 African Union (AU) Member States (MS): Burundi (44 case; o death), Cameroon (138; 27), Comoros (53; 4), Democratic Republic of Congo (DCR) 783; 13), Ethiopia (1152; 14), Kenya (162; 0), Malawi (87; 2), Mozambique (3296; 6), Somalia (2138; 19), South Africa (2; 0), Tanzania (164; 1), Uganda (14;0), Zambia (15646; 537) and Zimbabwe (9545; 127). This week 3415 new cases and 31 new deaths of cholera were reported from nine AU MS: Burundi, Comoros, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Somalia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
