According to local sources, eight people were killed and dozens of others sustained injuries of varying degrees when a landmine exploded in the village of Kinewba, on the Ngala-Dikwa road in the Ngala Government Area, Borno State. Civilian sources reported that the two vehicles involved in the event, damaged beyond repair, detonated a bomb while in transit.
