The Food Standards Agency has announced a precautionary recall of four products from Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese dairy. One death has been associated with this outbreak. Epidemiological and food chain investigations have identified links between some of the identified cases and a number of unpasteurized cheeses produced by the company.
The recalled product may be popular during the holiday season so consumers are urged to check if they have purchased or received this product as a gift and to pay attention to any symptoms of E.coli infection, the most common being high fever, chills, diarrhea and abdominal pain.
