What happened

Spain has confirmed its intention to close the country’s Nuclear Power Plants by 2035 by presenting energy measures including extended deadlines for renewable projects and adequate renewable auctions. Furthermore, the management of radioactive waste and the dismantling of the plants, whose closure will begin in 2027, will cost billions of euros.
