An explosive remnant of war (ERW) was detonated in the town of Binnish, located in the Idlib countryside. The incident resulted in the fatality of four children from the same family. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reports that the explosion occurred when the siblings entered an abandoned house in an apartment building where they and their family had previously resided. Data collated by a Britain-based watchdog reveals that in the year 2022 alone, a total of 174 civilians lost their lives to explosive devices in war zones across Syria, including landmines and other remnants of ordnance left by previous conflicts in the region.
