France has successfully tested an M51.3 long-range ballistic missile, increasing the credibility of France’s nuclear deterrent capabilities. Indeed, the missile, which did not carry nuclear weapons, was launched from the French Army missile test site of Biscarosse in southwestern France and landed in the North Atlantic.
The new M51.3 missile, scheduled to enter service around 2025, is developed by the aerospace company ArianeGroup, a joint venture between Airbus and the French defense group Safran.
