State-controlled energy group EDF and the French government have reached a provisional agreement on future nuclear energy prices. The two sides have agreed on 70 euros per megawatt hour (MWH) as a reference level for electricity prices, although everything is still being finalized.
The negotiations were aimed at finding a compromise between EDF, eager to maximise revenue to finance investments, and the government, eager to keep electricity bills as low as possible for French households and businesses.
