The woman claims to have taken nitrous oxide at a party when she was 18 years old, from then on she began using it more and more often until after about 5 years she was hospitalized for numbness in her legs and hands caused by the chemical substance.
Low levels of nitrous oxide use results in: severe headaches and dizziness and paranoia. Heavy use of the drug can cause: suffocation from lack of oxygen, anaemia, serious nerve damage, tingling and numbness in the fingers and toes and paralysis. The government says the drug can have psychoactive effects and so it bans use and possession.
