Leonardo DRS, Inc., a subsidiary of Leonardo S.p.A, has been awarded a contract to build a prototype of the next-gen Joint Effects Targeting System II (JETS II), a multi-sensor laser targeting technology for advanced observers. The contract for the 30-month prototype was awarded by the US Army.
JETS II is a portable and portable capability to quickly acquire, accurately locate, accurately engage targets with precision guided ammunition and improve the effectiveness of engagement with unguided ammunition. The technology includes thermal day and night vision sights, a celestial navigation system, an eye-safe laser rangefinder, and a digital magnetic compass among many other features.
