What happened

Algeria was elected to the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors for the 2023-2025 term, marking another achievement in its dynamic foreign policy since 2021. This election complements Algeria’s prior roles in the Human Rights Council and its upcoming non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for 2024 and 2025. Algeria is committed to representing Africa’s interests, collaborating with other continent members, and advancing the peaceful use of nuclear technology for sustainable development.
