A study focuses on assessing the risks associated with transporting hazardous chemicals across sea-crossing bridges has been conducted in China. It utilizes a Dynamic Bayesian Network (DBN) model that incorporates vehicle dynamics. The study’s results highlight that vehicle failures have the most significant impact on the VBTS. Unsafe driver behavior and road alignment are identified as the primary vulnerabilities, demanding increased attention. Moreover, the study underscores the importance of considering wind sensitivity in sea-crossing bridge transportation systems.
