France is using a nuclear research facility in the southern city of Marcoule to find ways to recycle components used for clean technologies. All this by recycling raw materials in old electric car batteries, solar panels and wind turbines.
The reuse of old components could help countries like France, which do not have mines and are dependent on imports, to narrow the gap with China and other Asian countries for critical metals such as lithium, nickel and silver.
